A new, innovative ‘texting’ service is being offered to
ease communication for the hearing impaired.
The Text-Connect™ service offers easy SMS text communication
between mobile phones and computers.
Text-Connect™ facilitates equal access for hearing impaired
people to service organisations.
Service providers working with the hearing impaired community
will find Text-Connect™ easy to implement because no new software
or infrastructure is required. In addition, costs are low
and can be easily controlled through the annual fee - message
credits need only be purchased as needed.
Text-Connect™ is part of Shropshire-based computer software
and duplication company Sabre Software Developments Ltd.
Managing Director of Sabre Group, David Tapley, said: “Text
Connect is so easy to use. Simply send a text message from
a mobile phone to your dedicated Text-Connect™ number and
the message arrives to your computer just as if it were an
email. This breaks the need for expensive two-way mobile communications
and eliminates the need for simultaneous presence of the both
parties."
“Outgoing “emails” sent from the office computer appear
as a text message on the person's mobile phone. There is no
significant time delay in either direction. Messages can be
sent to one recipient or broadcast to many, almost simultaneously."
“People with a hearing impairment find SMS text messaging
easy and convenient. Text-Connect™ is a must for any organisation
working with this community.”
