No. Once you have subscribed to Text-Connect you will only need to pay for extra credits and the annual renewal fee for your 'Text-Number'.

Text-Connect lets you both Send and Receive messages from / to your computer. Many SMS text services are 'Send' only, with limited or non existent 'Receive' options.

No. The number is only suitable for receiving texts.

Tech – Can I import my Outlook / Outlook Express address book ?

Yes. Import a list of contacts (and specify their groups) into your Text-Connect web account from a .CSV file. Outlook and Outlook Express let you export address books in .CSV format making it a straight forward job. “Easi Messager” Sender utilities feature the direct import of Outlook / Express contacts without the need to create a .CSV file.

Tech – Do I need a Special Computer

No. Access your Text-Connect account from any computer with a web browser and an internet connection.

Tech – How many messages can I send in one day ?

Simply put, you can send as many messages as you have credits for. The system handles many thousands of messages per day.

Tech – Is the format of my text number important ?

The best formats are either the usual 07781xxxxxx or the International style 447781xxxxxx which you will notice does not have any leading zeros. Before distributing your number to your clients please test just in case of a typo error.

Tech – Is there a limit on the length of Messages ?

A standard SMS text is 160 characters long. Text-Connect can send messages up to 640 characters long. Long messages are delivered as multiple texts with 1 message credit used per 160 characters.

Tech – Is there a time lag between sending and the delivery of messages ?

Messages are usually delivered almost instantly, though actual delivery times depend on the level of network traffic at the time.

Tech – Max Contacts ?

There is no current upper limit for contact or distribution lists.

Forward incoming text messages to multiple email addresses and/or mobiles Forwarding to mobiles uses message credits. Forwarding to email is FREE.

Tech – What are 'Distribution Lists'

It's easy to manage and run customised 'bulk' message shots to clients. Simply upload mobile numbers, names and other 'merge' data to Text-Connect to create 'distribution' lists. Data is uploaded from industry standard .CSV files which you can create from most office & business applications. The only limit on the number you can send is the number of credits you buy.

Tech – What are 'Groups'

Groups are selections of 'contacts'. As an example, we have our contacts grouped into suppliers, staff and clients, making it easy for us to quickly message all the contacts in a group. A contact may be in more than 1 group.

Tech – What are Contact's

Save time by saving regular numbers as named 'contacts'. These can the selected from a drop down list when composing a message. Organise contacts into 'Groups' and save time when sending the same message to multiple contacts.

Tech – What Hardware or Software is Required ?

No additional software or hardware needs to be installed to use Text-Connect. If your computer has a web browser and Internet connection you can send and receive messages via a valid Text-Connect account.

Tech – What is “Easi Messager” Software

Send messages directly from your PC desktop without logging into your Text-Connect account using our “Easi Messager” software. “Easi Messager” comes as a Outlook plug in, Outlook Express plug in and stand alone PC utility.

Tech – Will Text-Connect work with mobiles overseas ?

Yes. You can send and receive messages from UK and foreign mobiles overseas, network dependent. Multiple credits may be required for foreign mobiles.

What if – I can't resolve my customers problem by text ?

Simply text them and ask them to call you on your normal business phone number, or give them a call using their mobile number. The sends number for each text you receive is noted along with their message.

What if – I run out of credits ?

A warning email is automatically generated by the system once your available credits drop below a pre set point, which you can choose. Extra credits can then be purchased from us. Costs depend on how many you buy in one go.
